2000 T-BALL PROGRAM

Registration: July 10 - August 2, 2000

The Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department will offer a Cheerleading Program for Spotsylvania County residents ages 6-14 to coincide with the Youth Football Program.

Football games will be played on weekday evenings and Saturdays beginning in September and continuing through November.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT:
The registration fee is $ 30. If registrants have brothers or sisters who are also participating in Football or Cheerleading, the fee will be $ 25 for each additional child.
Make checks payable to "Treasurer, Spotsylvania County". There will be a $ 25 service charge on all returned checks.
To register your child, complete the registration form and return it along with the fee and a copy of your child's birth certificate (if one is not already on file) to the Parks and Recreation Department by mail or in person. A drop box is located at Loriella Park next to the front door of the park office. The drop box is open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to dusk.
We cannot register your child until a birth certificate is submitted. Do not return forms to the schools. Please note that due to overlapping seasons, children may not participate in both Soccer or Football and Cheerleading.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION:
Deadline for registration is 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2000. Postmark dates will not be considered. Late registrations may be accepted if there is space. All participants that register after 4:30 p.m. on the deadline day or any day after the deadline must pay $35. The last day for late registrations is before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2000.
If no space is available in the league once the deadline passes, your child is placed on a late registration list. Children are placed on teams from that list in the order that they were received. If your child is placed on a team, the coach will call you. Unfortunately, sometimes not all children can be placed on a team. When this occurs, a letter is sent to you notifying you that a full refund will be processed and mailed to you. Refunds cannot be issued from our office, they are mailed to you from the Spotsylvania County Finance Office.

PLACEMENTS ON SQUADS:
Participants who reside in the same household will automatically be placed on the same squad. Participants who have brothers or sisters in the football program will cheer for their team (please make a note on the registration form). A Sports Age Waiver Form for children to participate one age higher than their actual age may be submitted. A child must turn 6 years old by November 1, 2000 to be eligible for a waiver. For more information concerning this, please contact our office: (540) 898-PLAY (7529).
Coaches will contact participants by August 31, 2000 as to which squad they are on and when the first practice will be.

UNIFORMS:
Due to the wide age span in the Cheerleading Program, there has been some difficulty in obtaining uniforms to fit everyone. Therefore, each participant will be given a sweetshirt and skirt, which will be the cheerleading uniform. Parents will not be asked to provide additional clothing. Pom poms will be available for use at practices and games. You may keep the sweetshirt but skirts and pom poms must be returned to the Parks and Recreation Department at Loriella Park promptly at the end of the season. No child will be issued a uniform and pom poms if she has failed to turn in a uniform from a previous sport.

REFUNDS:
Those wishing to withdraw from the program before Tuesday, August 15, 2000 must do so by contacting the Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department. Individuals should follow up their verbal cancellation request with a written refund request. A 10% administrative fee will be charged on all refunds. There will be no refunds given to those who withdraw from the program after Tuesday, August 15, 2000.

INSURANCE:
The Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Deparment does not provide individual medical insurance for participants in the youth sports programs. Parent are responible for providing this insurance protection. Information on individual medical insurance provided by Scholastic Insurers can be obtained through the county's public school system.
